We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Technician III (Server Administrator) to provide day-to-day support of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, with a specialized focus on server infrastructure, operating system administration, and process control applications. This role is essential to maintaining the performance, security, and reliability of our mission-critical SCADA environment.

The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on experience in Windows Server Administration, particularly in SCADA operations, and demonstrate a strong ability to diagnose and resolve both software and hardware issues in a secure and controlled environment. You’ll work closely with project management, IT, and network/security teams to ensure system uptime, performance, and cybersecurity compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide SCADA server administration support, including software troubleshooting, patching, and security updates.
  • Configure and maintain Microsoft SCCM, WSUS, and COTS Windows applications, including the development and deployment of system images.
  • Manage and monitor Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems across SCADA environments.
  • Troubleshoot client/server applications, Oracle and other SCADA database systems, and resolve operating system performance issues.
  • Maintain and support Windows/Linux-based SCADA infrastructure, ensuring stability and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project deployments, system upgrades, and security audits.
  • Assist with the development of security controls and ensure compliance with ICS best practices.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including configuration procedures and system diagrams.
  • Provide incident response, perform system diagnostics, and recommend infrastructure improvements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience working with Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with Windows Server Administration.
  • High School diploma or GED and two years of accredited college or university in engineering or IT-related field.
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience, with 2 years at the Engineering Tech III level.

Certifications (Required):

  • Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
    OR
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
    OR
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)

Special Requirements (Must-Have Skills):

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge in:
    • SCADA system support
    • SCCM and WSUS configuration
    • Windows/Linux system administration
    • COTS application maintenance
  • Ability to deploy and maintain operating system strategies using SCCM Configuration Manager.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license.
  • Defensive Driver Certification required (if selected).
